Call for Papers for the ENV Media Brazilian iGaming Conference

This post is also available in: Brazil

The first ENV Media iGaming Conference aims to bring together researchers and special guests to discuss initiatives capable of consolidating the emerging iGaming industry in Brazil from the perspectives of transparency, fairness, and social responsibility.

Despite the expanding regulation and evident growth of the iGaming industry worldwide, there is no consensus among researchers around the very concept of ‘gambling’ itself (Cassidy et al, 2013). The real-money gaming concept and its social and economic impact have been addressed over the years in research efforts, with topics ranging from Psychology to Mathematics. Yet, Gambling Studies have only recently emerged as a recognized research field.

In the context of a nascent Brazilian gambling market (and still fresh regulation), we invite the submission of papers that advance topical research. Eligible studies – existing or new/ongoing – would contribute to filling the knowledge gap in the literature by addressing domestic Brazilian issues or related global trends and market dynamics.

ENV Media will accept individual and co-authored submissions, from undergraduate and graduate students, researchers and faculty members of all degrees. The selection of submissions will be conducted by the research team at ENV Media.

We are particularly interested in papers that address the probabilistic and statistical influence on players’ decisions; differences in player behavior between formal and informal gambling; the concept of responsible gaming through insights into mental health impacts; and the impact of the casino market on the Brazilian Gross Domestic Product (GDP – local, state or federal) and distribution of economic benefits, among others.

Consequently, contributions may address the following topics without, however, being limited to them:

  1. Probability, Statistics, and Preferences in Gambling Games
  2. Impacts of Gambling Games on Brain Chemistry
  3. Understanding RTP in Gambling
  4. The Casino and Betting Tribe: Contemporary Marketing Techniques
  5. Analysis of Roulette Game Results
  6. Risk Reduction and Psychological Determinants in Gambling
  7. Impacts of Technological Advancements on Behavior in Gambling
  8. Decision Making and Information in Gambling
  9. Mental Simulation, Cognitive Bias, and Memory in Gambling
  10. Testing Betting Roulette Strategies
  11. Safety in Online Gambling
  12. International Impacts of the Casino Market on the Brazilian Economy
  13. Mental Health and Online Gambling
  14. iGaming and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Issues
  15. Casino Game Bots on Messaging Apps
